Main subjects

Basic knowledge: philsophy; aesthetics; ethics; studies of history of culture and art; general and Hungarian history of music; folk music; acoustics

General technical knowledge and skills according to specialization

  • theory of music; musicianship (instrumental and singing); composition analysis; second study piano; chamber music/singing; string quartet (for student of violin, viola and violoncello); contemporary music practice; orchestral/choir practice; score reading; thesis (diploma concert)

Differentiated technical knowledge

  • first study; methodology of instrument/voice; coaching with piano; studies of repertoire (cl. instrument, singing); concert practice; piano accompaniment; sight-reading (cl. piano); string ensemble (cl. string); wind and brass band ensemble; tipmani and percussion instruments (conducting of orchestra and choir)

To enter into the education

  • The applicants take part in an entrance audition, where they demonstrate their musical talent and knowledge. The committe of professors decides giving the possibility to take part in the education program.

Conditions of application

  • certificate of secondary school final exams, aptitude entry test

Aptitude entry test

  • instrument/voice first study, theory of music, written and oral musicianship, piano
  • Tuition fee: 8000 USD/year

Additional costs

  • Registration fee: 50 USD
  • Fee for entry tests: 450 USD
  • Seat reservation: 1000 USD
